Dan started in Cambridge when he and a small group of friends launched the city's first brick and mortar food co-op - ‘Rising Earth’ - on Pleasant Street near Central Square. To support his family, he worked as a home contractor, engaging with every trade and inspectional department in Cambridge. Then, he owned and managed a busy moving company stationed near Fresh Pond for 40 years.
Dan got involved in Cambridge education as his children attended every level of schooling: Daycare, Tobin Elementary School, and CRLS back in the days of Pilot School. Dan's wife, Limin, developed her own expertise and perspectives as an educator in Cambridge schools and universities for 40 years.
Growing up in New York City, Fair Haven, Vermont, San Francisco, California, and Portland, Oregon, Dan loves life in Cambridge since settling here in 1968 . Now, he is determined to work for the people of this city that gave him such stimulation and joy, with the intelligent and generous support of his wife of 46 years, Limin Mo, educator, writer, artist, and chef, and, their three (wonderful) children, and four (super-wonderful) grandchildren.
